on the use of the anthelmintic drug Caniquantel Plus (Caniquantel plus)

COMPOSITION AND FORM OF RELEASE

1 tablet contains 50 mg of praziquantel and 500 mg of fenbendazole. There are 24 pieces in a package.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Kanikquantel Plus has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action and is harmful to trematodes, cestodes and nematodes, including Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, E. multilocularis, Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides spp. The drug disrupts the energy metabolism in the body of nematodes, inhibits ATP synthesis and paralyzes the neuromuscular system of cestodes, which leads to death and release of parasites from the gastrointestinal tract.

INDICATIONS

Prescribed for the treatment and prevention of trematodes, nematodes and cestodes in dogs and cats.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

Tablets are administered to animals orally once in a piece of meat, sausage, with minced meat, porridge or on the root of the tongue, preferably before morning feeding and without the use of laxatives. The drug is given in a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight. It is necessary to monitor the ingestibility of the drug. In case of refusal of food with an anthelmintic, kaniquantel plus is administered in the form of an aqueous suspension using a syringe or catheter. Canikquantel Plus can be used in puppies and kittens from 3 weeks of age.

SIDE EFFECTS

With the correct dosage, no side effects are observed. A dose that is 3 times higher than the recommended dose does not cause side effects in dogs. Cats are more sensitive to an overdose of the drug and may experience weakness, vomiting and diarrhea.

Effect of the drug

Contraindications

Analogs

Prafen plus

The active ingredients of Prafen Plus tablets are praziquantel and fenbendazole, which effectively destroy round and tapeworms that parasitize the intestines, lungs and liver of dogs.

Milbemax

The active components of Milbemax, which affect round and tape parasites, are milbemycin oxime and praziquantel.

The combination of febantel, praziquantel and pyrantel embonate makes Drontal Plus tablets an effective remedy against nematodes, cestodes and Giardia.

Dehinel plus

Like Kanikvantel plus, Dekhinel plus tablets have a meat taste. Their advantage is also the possibility of use for puppies whose weight is only 0.5 kg and age - 2 weeks.
