They get along well in confined spaces, are very attached to their family and show respect for all established rules. Such dogs are easily litter trained, without requiring constant walks. But from time to time you still need to go out with them - the baby needs to be allowed to run around as much as possible, and this must be a safe and preferably fenced area, since it will be extremely difficult to catch up with the pet.
Whippets don't need to be walked regularly, but it is important to take them out for a run periodically.
Yorkshire Terrier
Ornamental Yorkshire terriers, bred in England, are also small in size - 18–20 cm at the withers. Clean dogs can easily learn to relieve themselves in a litter box or on a diaper, so they can easily be kept at home without walking 2–3 times a day. On the street you have to behave extremely carefully with them, without letting go of the leash - they will not miss the opportunity to attract attention to themselves by barking, teasing other dogs, which may be misunderstood by their relatives. Walks are often complicated by weather conditions - the dog gets dirty, which requires additional care for its fur.
Yorkies have long hair, the difficult care of which requires frequent walks, especially in bad weather.
Maltese
The Maltese is a decorative breed with beautiful long white hair. Representatives reach 20–25 cm in height and only 3–4 kg in weight. These are affectionate, gentle and loving pets who will happily spend time in their arms. Like other decorative dogs, they can easily learn to go to the litter box, because regular walks with dust and dirt on the roads clearly will not benefit the snow-white fur.

Such pets are walked exclusively for socialization; this breed is recognized as “urban” and is perfect for keeping in an apartment with a litter box. In addition, contact with large animals is not recommended - small toys do not feel their size and do not measure their strength, which often ends in big problems.

Due to the brachycephalic (short) shape of the skull, the breed is prone to breathing problems, which, combined with its size, makes walking (especially in the heat) a challenge. It’s worth making a reservation here - the dog’s size is rather large, so it’s unlikely to be limited to a tray. How to train your pet dog to use the litter box?

Also, miniature dogs will be able to get used to relieving themselves in the bathroom. However, it must always be accessible to animals.
As a rule, puppies want to go to the toilet after eating, sleeping or active play. Therefore, a pet spinning in one place must be immediately transferred to a tray.
