Prazicide complex is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic drop for external use (International nonproprietary name of the drug: ivermectin + praziquantel + levamisole + diphenhydramine). 1 ml of drops contains as active ingredients: 25 mg of ivermectin, 102 mg of praziquantel, 20 mg of levamisole and 10 mg of diphenhydramine, as well as auxiliary components. In appearance they are a transparent solution of light yellow color for external use. The drug is packaged in polymer dropper pipettes of 0.85 ml, which are packed in 4 pieces in cardboard boxes.
Contraindications
If the dosage is observed, Prazicide is well tolerated by the cat and does not cause addiction. This product should not be used under the following conditions:
- individual intolerance to its components;
- exhaustion;
- infectious diseases;
- being in the recovery stage;
- first half of pregnancy;
- less than 3 weeks of age.
Prazicide Complex should not be prescribed to cats bearing kittens or lactating animals. The use of tablets and suspensions is permissible 21 days before birth and 14–21 days after and only under the supervision of a veterinarian.
Pharmacological properties
Prazicide complex is a combined antiparasitic drug with a wide spectrum of activity against larval and mature forms of nematodes and cestodes, including Toxascaris leonina, Toxocara mystax, Uncinaria spp., Ancylostoma spp., Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides lineatus, Diphyllobothrium latum, Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., as well as insects Linognathus setosus, Trichodectes canis, Ctenocephalides felis, sarcoptic mites - Sarcoptes cati, Notoedres cati, Otodectes cynotis. The mechanism of action of ivermectin is to change the magnitude of the current of chlorine ions through the membranes of the neuromuscular cells of the parasite. The main targets are glutamate-sensitive chloride channels, as well as GABA receptors. A change in the current of chlorine ions disrupts the conduction of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of the parasite. The mechanism of action of praziquantel is based on disruption of glucose transport and microtubular function of cestodes, inhibition of fumarate reductase activity and ATP synthesis, increased permeability of cell membranes to calcium ions, which leads to disruption of neuromuscular innervation, paralysis and death of the parasite. Levamisole has a similar effect to praziquantel against round helminths, and also increases the resistance of the animal's body by activating the processes of proliferation and phagocytosis of T-lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages. Diphenhydramine, as an antihistamine, when applied externally, has a local analgesic, antipruritic and anti-inflammatory effect. Prazicide-complex, in terms of the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, is classified as a moderately dangerous substance and in recommended doses does not have a locally irritating, resorptive-toxic, sensitizing, teratogenic or embryotoxic effect. Upon contact with mucous membranes, it causes mild irritation. The drug is toxic to bees, fish and other aquatic organisms.

Doses and method of administration
Prazicide-complex drops are applied to dry, intact skin of the animal in doses: cats weighing up to 5 kg are prescribed 1 pipette, cats weighing more than 5 kg are prescribed 2 pipettes. Before use, break off (or cut off) the tip of the pipette and then, spreading the animal’s fur, apply the drug to 3–4 points that are inaccessible for licking (at the base of the skull, between the shoulder blades, along the back and tail). If an animal is affected by insects (fleas, lice and lice), the treatment is carried out once. When affected by sarcoptic mange and notoedrosis, drops are applied to the affected skin, previously cleaned of crusts and scabs, covering up to 1 cm of borderline healthy skin 2 - 4 times with an interval of 10 - 14 days until the clinical recovery of the animal, which is confirmed by two negative results of acarological studies. Animals with large affected areas are treated in two doses with an interval of 1 day, applying drops first to one and then to the other half of the affected body surface. To prevent licking of the drug, the animal is put on a cervical collar, a muzzle, or the jaws are closed with a loop of braid, which are removed 20-30 minutes after applying the drug. For otodectosis (ear scabies), the external auditory canal is cleaned of scabs and crusts of exudate, and then 3–5 drops of the drug are instilled into each ear, the auricle is folded in half lengthwise and massaged at the base. The treatment is repeated 2 - 3 times with an interval of 5 - 7 days. The drug must be administered into both ears, even if clinical signs of the disease are detected in only one ear. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after 5–10 days. In advanced cases of otodectosis, complicated by otitis, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed. For nematodes and cestodes, the drug is prescribed once; to prevent helminthiases, it is recommended to treat animals at least once a quarter.

11. Prazicide suspension Plus is prescribed to adult dogs and cats, puppies and kittens from 3 weeks of age for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes for gastrointestinal nematodes (toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariasis, trichocephalosis, hookworm infection), cestodiasis (taeniosis, dipylidiasis, echinococcosis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocestoidosis) and mixed nematodo-cestodiasis invasions.
12. Contraindication for use is individual intolerance to the components of the drug (including a history of it). Prazicide suspension Plus should not be used by debilitated animals, patients with infectious diseases or convalescent animals, females in the first half of pregnancy, puppies and kittens under 3 weeks of age.
13. The drug is administered to animals orally individually, in the morning feeding with a small amount of food, or injected forcibly onto the root of the tongue using a dispenser syringe in the following doses: Prazicide suspension Plus for adult dogs, puppies of medium and large breeds - 1 ml per 3 kg animal weight; Prazicide suspension Plus for adult cats, kittens and puppies of small breeds - 1 ml per 1 kg of animal weight. For preventive purposes, deworming of animals is carried out once a quarter, as well as before each vaccination. For therapeutic purposes, as well as for the purpose of prevention in group (crowded) keeping of animals (kennels, shelters, vivariums), treatment is carried out twice with an interval of 14 days: for nematodes once a day, for cestodes and mixed nematode-cestodes infestations once a day. day for 3 consecutive days. A preliminary starvation diet and the use of laxatives before deworming are not required. The bottle of suspension should be shaken thoroughly before each use.
14. In case of an overdose of the drug, the animal may experience a depressed state, refusal to feed, excessive salivation, and gastrointestinal upset. In these cases, enterosorbents and symptomatic therapy are used.
15. When using the drug for the first time in cats, self-limiting hypersalivation is possible.
16. If necessary, deworming of pregnant and lactating females is carried out under the supervision of a veterinarian 3 weeks before the expected birth and 2 - 3 weeks after birth.
17. Disruption of the deworming regimen should be avoided as this may lead to reduced effectiveness. If the next dose is missed, the drug must be administered as soon as possible in the same dose, then the interval between administrations of the drug does not change.
18. When using Prazicide-suspension Plus in accordance with these instructions, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. Some animals may experience disturbances in the gastrointestinal tract (loose stools, vomiting) and increased salivation, which disappear spontaneously and do not require the use of medications. In case of increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, its use is stopped and the animal is prescribed antihistamines and symptomatic therapy.
19. Prazicide suspension Plus should not be used concomitantly with medications containing piperazine and cholinesterase inhibitors. There is no information on the interaction of Prazcid-suspension Plus with drugs from other pharmacological groups and feed additives.
20. Prazicide suspension Plus is not intended for use in productive animals.

Do not pet the animal or allow it near small children for 24 hours after treatment.
