Normal eye discharge
When a dog's eyes water, this is not always a pathology. Increased lacrimation can be caused by:
- changes in hormonal levels in pregnant and lactating bitches;
- reaction to cold and strong wind while walking;
- emotional stress that the animal experiences.
Dogs, like people, can cry if they are very upset or depressed about something (for example, in the case of a long separation from their owner or abuse). As a rule, in the cases described above, lacrimation goes away on its own and does not recur, so there is no need to worry.
Note! A slight discharge from the eyes is normal in small puppies.
This is just a sign of the body’s adaptation to new conditions and the transition to a new nutrition system. Watery eyes go away with age and do not require treatment.
