Today, among purebred dogs that have become popular four-legged friends for humans, various hybrids are no less popular among breeders. The Husky breed has not escaped this trend. Thanks to the efforts of amateurs and professionals, several dozen mixed breeds of this sled dog are now presented, each of which finds its own admirers.
Features of the appearance of the breed
The formation of the Husky breed took place in the 30s of the last century; it was during this period that the animals were officially registered by canine organizations. Dogs of this breed were bred in Siberia, where the animals were used to move through the snow in sleds. Huskies were also in demand in Canada, Greenland and Alaska. In order to improve the characteristics of dogs, representatives of this breed were crossed with huskies and wolves. Based on some data, the genus of northern dogs includes Shar Pei, Finnish Spitz, and Greenland dog.
The result of the scientists’ work was the appearance of animals with an incredibly attractive exterior and disposition; in addition, their four-legged comrades stand out for their survival, thanks to which they are practically not afraid of harsh climatic conditions.
In the mid-20th century, animals were brought to Europe, where they began to be used as indispensable assistants in search and rescue operations. In the USSR, such dogs almost ceased to exist, however, several animals were bought from the Chukchi, which was the impetus for the revival of the breed. Today there are several varieties of huskies, which are united by exterior similarities and behavioral characteristics. There are four main subspecies:
- Siberian;
- Alaskan;
- Sakhalin;
- Klee Kai (mini husky).
Also, husky hybrids with other breeds, of which there are more than two dozen, are in demand today as pets. Large and small dog breeds are used for crossbreeding.
As a rule, these animals inherit the characteristics of both parents, however, unlike subspecies, husky mestizos are not recognized by dog handlers, and therefore are not allowed to participate in exhibitions.
Advantages and disadvantages
The advantages and disadvantages of husky mestizos directly depend on which breed is chosen as a partner for crossing. Each of the mixtures has its own characteristics.

Mixes with large and medium dogs
Among the hybrids where huskies were crossed with large dogs, the following should be highlighted.
Shepherd and Husky
A dog from such large parents will inherit its size; in addition, the pet will be a short-haired animal, which greatly simplifies its maintenance in the home. The puppies will inherit an active and playful disposition from their northern ancestor, so you will need to take the mixed breed for regular walks in the fresh air. As for the German Shepherd, it will transfer its strength and developed intelligence to the hybrid, which will be an undeniable advantage when training a pet.
In terms of appearance, it will be difficult to predict which features will be dominant, but in most cases the dogs will have blue eyes and a color reminiscent of the “German”.
Golden Retriever and Husky Mix
As a rule, the Siberian subspecies is crossed, and the cross-bred animals are called rehaskis. Animals will have a balanced disposition; pets are very obedient. The result of crossing in terms of exterior will be a dog with a predominant external resemblance to a retriever, so the color of the pet will be in light colors.
A crossed dog will not need long and overly active walks.
Akita inu with husky
In animals, in terms of exterior, the genes of the first breed of dogs will dominate. In terms of character, pets are characterized as purposeful, in some cases even stubborn, four-legged friends of humans, which will not always be beneficial. A mixed breed can inherit certain facial features from a husky. Also, from the northern ancestor, the hybrid will receive pronounced nanny instincts.
Labrador and husky
Outwardly, an adult pet will strongly resemble its wild ancestor - the wolf, except for the exterior; the similarity can also be seen in the character of the animals obtained by crossing these two breeds of dogs. It will be extremely important for your pet to occupy a leading position; any attempts to show disrespect can cause aggression on his part. Such a mestizo will require mandatory training, however, in terms of training and education, a strict owner must demonstrate goodwill. Dogs require active and long walks and games.
Shar Pei and Husky mix
Metis stands out for its unusual exterior with a predominance of Chinese genes. The hybrid is also notable for its quality that it will be almost impossible to predict the dog’s color in advance. Pets stand out for their high intellectual qualities and are friendly towards humans, younger family members and other pets. From the husky, the hybrid inherited the need for long walks and getting new experiences.
Husky and chow chow
In appearance, the mestizo resembles its Chinese parent, this also applies to the color of the coat and voluminous coat. The dog's muzzle resembles a forest animal. From a husky, animals will take light eye color, height that exceeds the established standards for a bear dog, as well as the outline of spots on the fur coat. The animals are quite friendly in nature and get along well with children. However, hybrids require professional training.
What popular types of Rottweiler mixes exist?
Doberman and Rottweiler mix
This mixed breed has adopted the same features of both breeds; these dogs are generally similar to each other, especially in puppyhood.
You can see a comparison of Doberman and Rottweiler here.
As they mature, they become stately dogs, with strong paws, stockier than purebred Rottweilers, with a characteristic color for both breeds - black and red tan.
Their head is more like the head of a Rottweiler - medium in size, with a clearly defined occipital protuberance, with wide-set ears. The muzzle is somewhat narrowed, the nostrils are widened and round.
Lobes, lips and eye rims are black . By nature, the mestizo will take the best from his parents and will be a brave dog.
Rottweiler and Shepherd mix
In Germany, this mestizo was called Malchover. In the middle of the last century, a group of German breeders set the goal of breeding a new breed of service dogs with strong physical characteristics and a balanced character and stable psyche.
German Shepherds were used for selection
The results were very worthy: they turned out to be hardy, well-trained dogs with good health.
Both breeds have similar physical parameters. They are large, muscular, proportionally built, strong.
Therefore, puppies born from a union between a shepherd dog and a Rottweiler are almost no different in body type from their parents.
Hybrids have a toned body with a straight back and broad chest . The paws are long, straight and thin. The shape of the muzzle and the structure of the ears of the mixed breed are more similar to Rottweilers.
The coat is short, stiff, usually rich dark in color with rusty or light yellow tan markings.
Positive qualities of a puppy mixed from these breeds include::
- equilibrium;
- intelligence;
- sociability;
- curiosity.
They are energetic, active, love to play with their owner and tolerate physical activity well.
Metis are very attached to the whole family and it is very important for them to feel like members of this family.
Their training is best done by a person with a strong-willed character . The hybrid inherits stubbornness and willfulness from Rottweilers, so it can be difficult to get them to follow commands and obey.
They can also be cunning and pretend to be tired or sick, just so that they are not forced to practice following commands. During the training process, the dog must not give in and follow its lead, otherwise the pet may become uncontrollable.
These dogs require a special approach . With enough attention, care and proper training, they will become reliable guards and loving pets.
Rottweiler and pitbull mix
Since the Rottweiler and Pitbull cope excellently with guard duties, such a mixed breed will be an excellent guard. These are strong, hardy, energetic, fearless dogs.
But it should immediately be noted that this breed is not suitable for everyone . The owner should approach the upbringing and training of the pet with great responsibility and devote a large amount of both time and effort to it.
Otherwise, the dog will feel lonely, and unwanted changes may occur in its psyche.
When raising a hybrid, the dog's tendency to dominate must be suppressed, otherwise the animal may become uncontrollable.
It is very important not to keep your pet on a chain . Since pit bulls do not tolerate cold well, a long stay outside the home is not suitable for a mixed breed.
The mestizo is slightly smaller in size than a purebred Rottweiler, stockier, and weighs approximately 30-40 kg.
The color can be any - either solid black or black with brindle markings. The coat is smooth, short, without undercoat, and shiny.
The mestizo has a voluminous muzzle with powerful, strong jaws and developed muscles . The chest is wide and massive. Paws of medium length, strong, muscular.
Rottweiler-Husky mix
Puppies from the fusion of these two breeds have developed muscles and excellent endurance. From huskies they take goodwill and friendliness. They usually choose one person from the family as their owner, although they are very fond of the whole family.
The guarding qualities will not be at all as excellent as those of a purebred Rottweiler - after all, a husky is a breed not intended for protection.
Since huskies have been kept as team sled dogs for a long time, mixed breeds get along well with their relatives and are even able to share food with other dogs. And they consider other animals as prey; they can only get along with them if they grow up together.
These are large dogs, whose height at the withers reaches about 55-60 cm, and males usually have larger dimensions . The color can be, like that of a Rottweiler, pure black, or it can be mixed with colors characteristic of a husky color.
Raising these puppies requires rigor and consistency; they cannot be spoiled. They are able to obey if they feel a strong hand, otherwise the dog can take on the role of leader.
These are fearless dogs, there is little that can scare them . The owner of this hybrid must be an active person who loves long walks.
Stafford mix with Rottweiler
As a result of crossing these two breeds, the result is a large, strong dog, with well-developed muscles, an excellent guard, and at the same time an excellent companion (shown in the photo).
Whether he will be aggressive depends on many factors:
- education;
- heredity;
- habitats.
For productive training, the owner needs to find a common language with the pet, be patient and remember consistency.
The approval of the owner is very important for such dogs, so they will try their best to please him. You cannot use rudeness and force if the dog does not succeed.
Mixed staff and Rottweilers need regular physical activity, this is necessary not only for physical fitness, but also for a good emotional state.
It is useful to walk your pet in common areas with other dogs, this will help socialize the dog.
Mix of Rottweiler and Alabai
Representatives of both breeds have a dominant character and are sometimes capable of showing aggression..
Two cases are possible: either absolute calm (of course, if the owner and his family are safe), or a great desire to be a “chief”, a leader, and sudden outbursts of aggression towards strangers.
Crossbreeding with miniature dogs
Pug and husky
The dog is not so common; in the animal’s external characteristics, heredity from the northern ancestor is not so clearly expressed. The body structure is similar to a pug, and the mestizo will also inherit a good-natured character from miniature four-legged pets.
The hybrid is not specially bred, so such animals appear exclusively through random crossing.
Mixed breed with Pomeranian Spitz
The second name for these hybrids is Pomsky. Animals obtained from such different parents not so long ago, however, are already in deserved demand among designer dogs. Pets stand out for their high cost. Hybrids are notable for their lively and good-natured disposition, have good contact with humans, and can become an excellent companion for children. The dogs are small, so they are suitable for keeping at home.
Mixed Welsh Corgi and Husky
Externally, the animal will resemble a mini-husky; the dog will have short limbs, but an elongated body. The color of dogs is predominantly black and white; the pet will inherit the eye color from its Siberian parent. The animal retains its friendly and playful attitude towards humans until old age, becomes strongly attached to the breeder, and is also distinguished by its well-developed intellect.
Jack Russell Terrier and Husky
The dog is extremely rare; its appearance is more similar to its English parents, however, the behavior shows the traits of both dogs crossed with each other. Pets are active and amenable to training. In addition to the above options for husky mixes with small dogs, there are also hybrids where one of the parents is a Yorkie or a Chihuahua.
Detailed description of the characteristics of mestizos
There are many varieties of mestizo breeds, differing from each other both in appearance and in character and behavioral characteristics.
With a German Shepherd
A cross between a Husky and a German Shepherd is the most popular and has several names: German Husky, Siberian Shepherd, Shepherd Husky and Gerberian Shepski. The last name is the most common.
The initial goal that the breeders tried to achieve when breeding this hybrid was a service dog adapted to the conditions of the Far North. It was never achieved. Externally, a mixture of husky and shepherd looks like this:
- the coat is thick, dense with a pronounced undercoat, brightly colored;
- eyes are blue or multi-colored;
- the structure is powerful, but without the sloping croup characteristic of the Germans.
Interesting! A cross between a Husky and a German Shepherd does not strive to serve its owner unquestioningly, like a German, and is not capable of moving long distances. The mestizo did not adopt these parental qualities.
Husky and German Shepherd mix
With a wolf
A mixture of a purebred husky and a wolf is called a wolfop or wolf. They are larger than a dog, but not as big as a wolf.
- height at withers is 65-75 cm;
- the head, paws and body are shaped like a wolf;
- Husky color, blue eyes often come from this breed.
Their character is completely unpredictable. They do not become attached to their owner. Training animals is very problematic. The dog does not recognize strangers at all.
Important! Volskis should not be fed dry food under any circumstances. Even premium brands are not suitable.
They require exclusively natural food. They must have the opportunity to constantly drink clean water; they will need a lot of it.
With a pit bull
A Husky and Pitbull mix is called a Pitsky. This is one of the most popular mixed breeds. They are beautiful, smart and good-natured.
External description of the breed:
- average height, at the withers up to 55 cm;
- the body is lighter than that of a pit bull, and with less developed muscles;
- the ears are erect, cropped by breeders in childhood;
- eyes are most often blue, but brown, amber, olive and heterochromic options are acceptable;
- The color is varied, but there is often a light mask on the face.
The character of these pets is at the same time good-natured, simple, and very playful and capricious. They can easily run away from home, so you need to keep a close eye on them.
Husky/Pitbull mix
With a pug
Such a cross is not a designer one and is not purposefully bred. But as a result of accidental mating, the birth of cute doggies is possible:
- the appearance is almost completely borrowed from the pug, with the exception of size;
- the height is average between a short husky and a fairly tall pug;
- the head is round in shape, the muzzle is wide, upturned;
- ears can be either drooping or erect;
- eye color brown or blue;
- the coat is thick and short, color like that of a husky;
- tail - ring.
Interesting! Although this breed is not purposefully bred, it is quite common and even received a separate name - hag or hagski (the second name for the pug is pag).
Hybrid of Husky and Malamute
A hybrid that is a mixed breed of Husky and Malamute is called an Alaskan. They are bred for a specific purpose: these dogs are universal sled dogs.
The dogs are more powerful and larger than huskies, their hair is longer and thicker. Eye color can be amber, blue, heterochromic.
Outwardly, they are very reminiscent of a wolf, they are almost impossible to distinguish from each other. However, the character of Alaskans is calm, reasonable, and sometimes a little phlegmatic. A distinctive feature is high intelligence.
Mixed Welsh Corgi and Husky
This is a breed not recognized by international and Russian standards, called corgi-husky or horgi. There are standards of appearance for her:
- the body is long, the legs are short;
- short height up to 40 cm, average build, weight about 16 kg;
- the coat is thick, with a well-defined undercoat, and can be of absolutely any color, including spotted and multi-colored;
- Eye color is most often brown, heterochromia and small blotches of blue are possible.
Horgis have inherited all the best qualities of corgis and huskies. These are very cute dogs with a cheerful, good-natured disposition, suitable for indoor conditions.
Jack Russell Terrier and Husky
This is an extremely rare species, which looks more like terriers, but behaves like both owners at the same time.
With a husky
They decided to mix husky and husky relatively recently. The result is quite difficult to predict.
Accidental mating with a mongrel
In addition to crossing huskies with purebred dogs, there are options when unintentional crossing with outbred four-legged pets occurs. In most cases, it is impossible to predict the result of such a mating; this applies to the exterior of such a hybrid. In addition, there is a big risk in terms of getting a dog with a completely unpredictable temperament.
However, puppies born from such an accidental mating with a mongrel are distinguished by their endurance and extremely rarely have defects in appearance.
Such pets are actively used by humans to protect territory or homes; with skillful training, outbred mestizos will become good companions for humans.
How to tell a purebred husky from a crossbreed?
In light of the active breeding of husky hybrids, it is extremely important for breeders when purchasing a puppy to have an understanding of how to distinguish a purebred dog from a mixed breed. Mixing of breeds can occur both in one generation and can be traced in several generations, since some matings are not at all planned by the owner.
When buying a four-legged friend, you should pay attention to its cost. As a rule, mixed breeds will be much cheaper than purebred dogs. Sometimes such animals without a pedigree can simply be offered as a gift. Such situations will help a potential buyer understand the situation. Metis, in light of the inheritance of many traits from different parents, can be distinguished by a rather complex character. Therefore, the breeder is recommended to observe the puppy he likes, and also, if possible, get to know the animal’s parents.
However, only a genetic test can reliably determine that a pet is purebred ; otherwise, the buyer can rely on the external characteristics of the animal, as well as the documentation provided by the nursery. The breeder should pay attention to the size of the animal, however, at an early age it will be quite difficult to determine whether the dog meets the standards. As a rule, a small puppy can grow into a big dog and vice versa.
The size of the animal’s limbs can be considered as a guide; however, this factor can be purely individual.
The main characteristics of the Husky breed are as follows.
- Animals stand out among their relatives by their “voice.” So, it is typical for the breed not to bark, but to howl. Moreover, this applies to all emotions – both positive and negative.
- Not all mestizos will have an innate love for children; huskies are excellent nannies, so they will try to accompany children everywhere, if there are any in the family.
- Huskies are unlikely to be good guards; as for mixed breeds with outbred animals, they, as a rule, have this instinct more developed.
- Purebred Siberian dogs do not have a specific odor. Because animals clean their fur on their own.
- Since the breed is positioned as a sled dog, a feature of such dogs will be strong limbs. Mestizos may not have this exterior feature.
- The main characteristic of the breed is eye color. Huskies are characterized by mirror-blue pupils.
Character and facial expression
Probably the biggest difference between a husky and a malamute lies in their characters. In appearance, many people think that the Malamute is an aggressive dog. But this is an erroneous judgment. Breeding standards prevent this. Realizing that the wild wolf mixture in such a huge dog was dangerous, breeders fought with the Malamute's genetics, trying to remove the aggressive predator gene.
The peculiarity of the dog is the absence of barking as such - this is a wolf heritage. Against its peaceful background, the husky looks completely different. This is an irrepressible dog that is interested in everything that happens around it, it has its own opinion on any matter. That is why, from an early age, you need to pay special attention to training, otherwise you will end up with an indomitable destroyer who does not recognize anyone’s authority. The Malamute's facial expression is soft and friendly, it can demonstrate affection, and shows curiosity. The husky has a sharp face, sometimes it looks angry, cunning and mischievous, interested.

With Spitz
Babies born from the mating of a Pomeranian Spitz and a Husky are called Pomskies in official documents. The puppies captivate with their toy appearance, for which they have received the title of designer dog type. Their miniature size makes them ideal companions for city dwellers.
Doggies have a lot of positive qualities:
- energy, mobility;
- quick wit, good intelligence;
- pickiness;
- endurance;
- good nature.
Tiny dogs get along well with all household members - people and animals. The exception is decorative rodents, in relation to which the dog may develop a hunting instinct.
Pomskies happily participate in children's games and become devoted friends of the child. Parents can safely entrust their child to a four-legged nanny.
The half-breed, born as a result of an accidental mating of a husky and an Eskimo Spitz, was named Huskimo by dog handlers. The animal is of medium size and has a thick, warm coat. The coat allows you to keep your pet in an open enclosure. Huskimos have inherited unpretentiousness from their ancestors and feel calm in Spartan conditions.
Mestizos make reliable guards. However, the pet must be supervised because it loves to show independence. Huskimos need constant training and long walks. Physical activity helps keep fit and fight the tendency to obesity.
Dogs are easy to train and easily learn basic commands. They announce the approach of a stranger with a loud, loud bark. At the same time, they do not show visible aggression towards strangers, but remain alert in their presence.
Life expectancy and health
On average, Alaskans can live 12-15 years . At the same time, most of these mestizos are in good health.
But, given that husky and malamute are related breeds, a puppy from such parents may be predisposed to eye diseases, as well as diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
The gluttony inherited from the two original breeds makes such a dog prone to obesity . In addition, Alaskans can be susceptible to diabetes.
With a German Shepherd
In cynological circles, the name Shepski is usually used to refer to a mixture of a husky and a German shepherd. In appearance, half-breeds are similar to their European relatives. The presence of Asian blood is revealed by the slanted shape of the eyes and blue pupils.
From their wild relatives - wolves, Shepskis inherited a love of howling. Against the background of strong noise, they make loud howling sounds.
Valuable advantages of the variety:
- short hair that does not require special care;
- physical endurance;
- tendency to train;
- adaptability to living in an apartment and on the street.
Experienced dog handlers recommend using Shepskies as watchdogs. They have a strong sense of possessiveness. The pet will zealously guard the entrusted territory from encroachment by strangers and animals. If a threat arises in relation to household members or the owner's property, the dog will immediately show the qualities of a protector.
With a husky
The most successful is the combination of genes from representatives of two northern breeds. Mestizos tend to inherit the appearance of one parent and the temperament of the other. As a result, a cross between a husky and a husky has qualities inherent in hunting and guard dogs.
The dog does not cause much trouble to his owners. The animal feels good outdoors at any time of the year. It is preferable to keep half-breeds in a private home. The pet should have constant access to clean drinking water, and in the heat a shaded resting place should be created for it.
Animals are distinguished by their devotion and attention to their owners. They treat small children with care. Owners note the calm, friendly disposition of the mixed-breed dogs.
Pet Personality
As is the case with other mixed breeds, it is difficult to say which of its parents such a puppy will grow up to resemble. Considering that huskies and malamutes have opposite character traits, we can say that it all depends on how the genes line up.
If the puppy is more like a malamute, he will have a calm and good-natured disposition, but if he is a husky, he will grow up to be very active and playful.
One thing is certain: that his character will contain traits of both breeds. Metis will be very smart and quick-witted, although perhaps also cunning.
They will almost certainly inherit from both their parents the desire to dig up the ground and the ability to make tunnels, therefore, if the owner does not want his pet to wander on its own, he will have to take care of a reliable fence or enclosure from which the Alaskan cannot get out.
Many owners of such dogs note that Alaskans tend to have a dominant attitude towards other dogs . But they treat children very well: such pets make wonderful playmates for children.
NOTE!
Such dogs may be too friendly and trusting of strangers, which makes their use as guards inappropriate.
Mestizos are especially loyal to their owners and are people-oriented, which significantly facilitates the process of training them..
Many people who decide to buy such a dog think that the character of their pet will be average between the temperament of a husky and the phlegmatic nature of a malamute, but there is rarely a “golden mean” in the character of Alaskans.
Much more often, a puppy inherits most of its traits from one breed or another.
With Malamute
The mixing of Malamute and Husky blood led to the formation of a variety called Alaska. In appearance, the half-breed is more reminiscent of a wolf. The animal has a large body and strong paws. Powerful limbs help them run well in the snow, which is why the Alaskan is often used in dog sleds.
Mixed breeds show excellent results in sporting competitions among sled dogs. In addition, they have developed intelligence and natural intelligence. Alaskans have good health and a stable psyche.
Appearance
By the way, based on their appearance, people confuse not only huskies and malamutes, but also huskies and huskies. Moreover, huskies are not even a breed, unlike the Siberian husky, but rather a general name. And if huskies and malamutes are dogs for riding, then the husky is a hunting dog. There is also confusion between the Malamute and the Samoyed - these are both sled dogs. But without going into a detailed description, they are still easy to distinguish: the Samoyed dog can only be white.

The main differences between the Husky and the Laika breed
The Husky is a medium-sized breed, in contrast to the Malamute with its large, athletic build. At the same time, about the first one we can say that the dog’s movements are elegant (and energetic), and the malamute, as if realizing its size, moves more carefully. Dogs also differ in texture.

The Alaskan Malamute has a deep chest with very well-developed muscles. When a dog stands, it gives the impression of understanding its own dignity - its head seems to be proudly raised up. The Husky has a fast and light gait with relaxed movements.

Dimensions
Huskies and Malamutes have size differences that are not always noticeable to the uninformed person. But overall there is a definite difference. Huskies are smaller in size and weigh less. Dogs are more restless and mobile. The Alaskan Malamute is a mix of dog and white wolf. Therefore, its size is larger, it is characterized by a kind of clumsiness and massive paws. Heavy bones and pronounced muscles deprive them of speed. The size of an adult dog varies by gender and is 58–64 cm, and weight is 34–38 kg. Husky sizes range from 50–60 cm and 15–28 kg, respectively.
Coat and color
Probably the most noticeable difference in dogs is their color. The Malamute has one main color – grey-white. But the husky has a greater variety of colors.
Gray, gray and white, black and white, brown and white colors are allowed. The Malamute has a double coat - one layer is dense, the undercoat is similar to felt; the second layer is a stiffer wool for protection. The husky also has a double coat, but the undercoat is softer, and the protective coat always lies smoothly.
Head and eyes
Malamutes and huskies have significant differences in eye color.
The fact is that for a Malamute there is a strict standard - the eyes must only be brown. The appearance of a puppy with blue eyes is considered a flaw; dogs are not allowed to be bred, even if they are ideal in all other respects. But husky eyes are a kind of calling card; most photographs on the Internet focus on their blue, sky-colored eyes with eyeliner.

Yellow and brown colors are also acceptable. Multi-colored eyes are also considered standard; they are not considered a defect and have no consequences in a subsequent litter. The Malamute's head is wide and powerful, voluminous, proportional to the dog's body, prominent cheekbones with massive jaws. The husky's head is also proportional to the body, so it has a medium-sized, narrow, neat, “dry” muzzle.
Skeleton
The difference in the skeletal structure of dogs is also quite noticeable.
Malamute has:
- massive bones;
- paws are large, thick pads (snowshoes), fur between the toes;
- knees have moderate angles, slightly bent, metatarsus straight down.
Husky:
- medium bones;
- knees with pronounced angles, located close to the ground;
- The paws are medium-sized, oval, also with thick pads and fur between the toes.
Tail
The Malamute's tail is a swaying “fan” over its back, which does not curl into a ring. Can be pulled back during movement. The tail is more wolfish. The husky has a more fox-like tail - it is a round “broom” above the back. It can be directed upward during movement or bent like a crescent in certain stances.
Other husky mixes
No one has been involved in the targeted hybridization of Siberian sled dogs with representatives of other breeds. The offspring from random matings are characterized positively in most cases. The dogs have an attractive appearance and a friendly disposition.
Some of the most famous crossbreeds include:
- Siberian Retriever – with a golden retriever;
- Sharberian Husky – with Chinese Shar Pei;
- Siberian Spaniel – with an American Cocker Spaniel;
- Boxsky - with a boxer;
- Pitsky – with a pit bull terrier;
- Chusky – with chow-chow.
