general description
Fospasim has the form of a clear, colorless liquid, which is available in one of the dosage forms:
- injection solution (supplied in 100 ml glass bottles);
- drops for oral use (supplied in 20 ml bottles with a dropper stopper).
Shelf life – 3 years from the date of production, choosing for storage in dry places with a temperature of 0-30°C without access to sunlight. The contents of opened bottles should be used within 21 days. Improper storage conditions, damage to the packaging, turbidity or change in color of the liquid, the appearance of impurities make Fospasim unsuitable for use.
The formula is based on plant extracts and mineral tinctures:
- yellow phosphorus;
- black henbane;
- aconite pharmaceutical;
- passionflower (passion flower) red and white;
- dried musk deer musk;
- Ignacy bitter;
- platinum.
Drops and injection solution have the same set of components. The differences lie in the degree of their dilution and the excipients used: glycerin and purified water (in drops), sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, ethyl alcohol, sodium acetate trihydrate and water for injection (in injection solution).
Additional components
An additional component is Passionflower extract. Latin name: Passiflora incarnata. Among lovers of indoor flowers, the plant is known by the “nickname” Cavalry Star, which is due to the specific type of flowers.
Unlike previous components, Passionflower is officially recognized by official medicine. In particular, based on its extract, the well-known drug “Novo-Passit” was created, which is a powerful sedative. Homeopaths in this case are also interested in its sedative effect.
The next component, Phosphorus, Passiflora edible. "In the world" is known as passion fruit. Its properties have not been studied by official medicine, but it is assumed that it is able to normalize metabolism and, as in the previous case, have a calming effect on the nervous system.
A real jewel in every sense is Platinum metallicum D4 trituration. Simply put, a platinum compound. It is known that this form of the precious metal is capable of inhibiting (that is, slowing down) pathological forms of cell division, which is why it is used in the treatment of cancer. Homeopaths believe that this substance helps restore damaged nerve tissue.
The last part of the medicine is Strychnos ignatia, also known as Strychnos . This is the name of a whole genus of vines that contain strychnine. A deadly poison that causes tetanic contractions of skeletal muscles. But in homeopathic doses, this substance, on the contrary, “relaxes” the body and acts as a strong sedative.
Operating principle
Fospasim components provide:
- stabilization of emotional and psychological state;
- antipsychotic effect;
- reducing manifestations of aggressiveness and fearfulness;
- increasing the adaptive capabilities of the body;
- suppression of emotional reactivity and hyperkinesis (involuntary pathological movements);
- regulation of the functioning of brain regions involved in the formation of emotional and behavioral reactions, sensorimotor integration and learning processes.
On a note! An important advantage of Fospasim is its exceptionally calming effect, without slowing down reactions, causing drowsiness or lethargy in behavior.
Fospasim belongs to the category of low-hazard substances without local irritation and sensitizing effects. Even its long-term use does not harm the health of the animal, does not lead to the accumulation of active components, or disruption of the normal functioning of all organs and systems at the end of the course. The main thing is to select the exact dosage.
Indications for use
It is advisable to use Fospasim for cats in order to stabilize the emotional and psychological state in case of:
- destructive, nervous, overly intrusive behavior, hyperactivity, aggression, including fear of loneliness, separation from the owner, finding oneself in a new environment and other sources of stress;
- fearfulness for no apparent reason;
- fear of loud noises (fireworks, gunshots, thunderstorms, etc.);
- the need for transportation;
- anxiety disorders;
- replacement activity, when the pet is ready to repeat the same actions for a long time (for example, digging in the tray);
- the need to develop new forms of behavior for participation in exhibitions;
- premedication in order to enhance the effect of sedatives and narcotics, reducing the likelihood of developing side effects after surgery.
Important! Behavioral disorders are sometimes a manifestation of hidden diseases, so it is recommended to first examine the animal by a veterinarian in order to exclude or identify possible pathologies.
Fospasim is also used as a preventive remedy for stressful situations and neuroses associated with exhibitions, long trips, moving, noisy holidays, visits to the doctor or groomer (3-4 days in advance), the appearance of new family members (for example, at the birth of a child) or pets in the house. Drops or injections can be used as a sedative for cats during pregnancy and lactation, unsterilized females before estrus and unneutered males in February-March, newborn kittens and all animals, regardless of age. Thanks to its plant base, Fospasim is suitable for use in animals with diseases of the heart, stomach, intestines, liver, and vascular disorders.
Price and analogues
The rather high price tag can be attributed to the disadvantages of this drug. On average, the price of Fospasim for 20 ml drops ranges from 330 to 500 rubles. A bottle for injections with a volume of 100 ml can be bought in the range from 800 to 1000 rubles.
The following sedatives can act as analogues:
- “Stop stress” - from Russian. The main component of this sedative drug is phenibut. It improves blood circulation in the brain, which helps normalize the ongoing processes of excitation and inhibition. A complex of various medicinal plants has a sedative effect.
- The antidepressant "Fontek" is necessary to regulate the behavior of dogs with high anxiety or aggression. Requires a long course of treatment. The dosage is calculated individually for a particular dog, and the first results will be visible only after a few days.
- Also in pet stores there are collars that are saturated with the aroma of medicinal herbs that have a sedative effect. These herbs, but in dried form, can be purchased in pharmacies. As a drink, you can use decoctions of valerian, chamomile and motherwort.

- Drops can be combined with drugs of pathogenetic, symptomatic and etiotropic action.
- For chronic disorders (frequent panic reactions, congenital excitability, etc.), as well as if it is impossible to use drops for some reason, it is possible to use a sedative by injection 1-3 times a week.

Owner reviews
Evgeniya, owner of the nursery:
“I have been buying Fospasim for my pets for more than 5 years: before participating in exhibitions, for cats before estrus, for cats during the “hunting” period when there is no possibility of mating, and even for kittens before being handed over to new owners. I also advise them to use this sedative at first to make it easier for the kittens to get used to their new home. It helps animals survive stressful situations well; I haven’t observed any side effects either.”
Kirill, owner of the cat Mars:
“An effective drug. Our cat is very anxious with periodic displays of aggression. Last year they gave him Fospasim drops when another cat appeared in the house (the parents left their pet for 3 weeks while they went on vacation). “We recently took another course of sedatives in connection with the imminent addition to the family, because we were afraid of a bad reaction to a small child in the house.”
