Mini schnauzer (miniature schnauzer)
Just 30 to 36 cm at the withers, the Miniature Schnauzer has a strong, muscular build and a lifespan of 12 to 14 years. The long-lived dog gets along well with children, so the mini schnauzer is an ideal family dog. The breed is prone to pancreatitis due to high cholesterol levels in the blood. Therefore, the Miniature Schnauzer needs a special diet.
Small long-lived dogs
Among small breeds, as we have already found out, there are also many long-livers. In world practice, there are many cases where a small long-lived dog lived for 20 years.
Typically, Yorkshire Terriers have a life expectancy of 13 years, but many representatives of the breed have been recorded who continued to delight their owners even at twenty years of age. The Guinness Book of Records records no less situations when the Toy Poodles mentioned above also lived long and happily with their owners for 20 years or more.

Dachshunds
Who can resist these cute dogs? Long-haired, wire-haired or smooth-haired dachshunds live on average 12 to 14 years. In the Middle Ages, the Germans used the dachshund for hunting. Their long, low body was ideal for diving into a badger's den. But dachshunds are prone to musculoskeletal diseases due to their structural features. Don't let your pet jump off high furniture and gain excess weight.
