Beautiful names for girls dogs

A beautiful name for a girl’s dog should be short and easy to remember so that the bitch can quickly get used to it. Dog handlers advise choosing nicknames that contain the letter “r” because animals react to it faster. Remember that two-word names must have an abbreviation, for example, Polar Star - Zvezdochka or Polka. Almost always, the nickname reflects the pet’s character, appearance and origin. Therefore, nicknames such as Nika, Bagheera, Ophelia, Snezhana, Pusha are suitable for large, fluffy and guard dogs.

For small girls' dogs, light and beautiful nicknames are suitable that will reflect the size of the animal, its friendliness, playfulness and tenderness. Such names as Prissy, Princess, Nicky, Barbie are relevant.

Important! Many dog owners try to emphasize the country of origin of their pet. Therefore, names such as Strela, Vyuga, and Zorka are chosen for greyhounds. And for northern breeds, Yuki, Anuka, Nordica will be in tune.

Who names a dog?

The breeder himself gives nicknames to the newborn puppies. He needs to register the offspring that were born, each representative of which as a result receives a metric, which in the future will need to be exchanged for a pedigree. The metric is an important sign of a dog’s thoroughbred; it indicates from which parents the puppy came. Purchasing a puppy without this document cannot serve as a guarantee that you will acquire a purebred representative of the breed.

Some puppies are booked in advance, even before they are born. In this case, the breeder can offer future owners to independently choose a nickname for the pet, but observing certain requirements.

Rules for choosing a nickname

You can choose a nickname only by following certain rules. So, each name consists of two parts: the nickname itself and an indication of the breeder or nursery where the puppy was born (prefix). The prefix can contain a preposition (in which case it is located only after the nickname) or without it (in this case it can be placed both before and after the nickname). Usually, each nursery has the same spelling of prefixes (with or without a preposition, before or after the nickname) for all puppies.

So, for example, in the metric (and then in the pedigree) there may be entries like Vernyi ot Filippovoy or Fram ot Filippovoy. It is clear that the dogs’ names are Verny and Fram, and Filippova is the name of the breeder who breeds this breed and from whom this dog was purchased.

Also, from the dog names Gregory Del Biagio, Lena Del Biagio, we can conclude that both dogs were born in the Del Biagio kennel (this entry could have looked like Del Biagio Gregory, Del Biagio Lena, but this kennel decided that the original version was more harmonious).

In addition to the prefix indicating the breeder, the puppy has a nickname. It's not that simple with her either. All puppies from the same litter must have names starting with the same letter. This letter is selected in order, which corresponds to the number of this litter. If this is the first litter of the kennel, then all puppies will have nicknames starting with the letter A, the second - with B, and so on, excluding letters with which names in principle cannot begin (b, b, y).

As a result, the length of the puppy’s full name, including the prefix, nickname, spaces between them cannot be more than 40 characters, and the prefix should not exceed 15 characters.

In one kennel, the same nickname cannot be given to dogs more often than once every 30 years (that is, if in a kennel a puppy is named Solomon, then the next Solomon can appear only after 30 years).

At birth, a puppy card is issued for purebred puppies, where the name must already be entered

Registration of nicknames

All names of puppies are entered into the pedigree register book. If it is possible to trace at least 3 generations of the ancestors of a given puppy, then his name is entered in the pedigree book of the Russian Cynological Federation (VERK RKF).

It is subsequently impossible to change the nickname entered in the metrics, and then in the dog’s pedigree (this applies to both the name itself and the prefix). In the documents, your pet will only be called that way.

Features of registering nicknames through the club

If the puppy was not born in a kennel or from a breeder, then it is registered in the club. Each club maintains its own stud book, which is used to determine which letter the nicknames of the puppies of a given litter will begin with. Such puppies will not have a prefix to their name. Also, dogs will not receive registration if similar names are already in the stud book or the nickname is similar to the name of a dog that has made its breed famous in some way.

The nickname received upon registration in the club cannot be changed either.
