Nobivak vaccine line - reliable protection for your cat

Features of Nobivak vaccines

Nobivak vaccines are produced in the Netherlands.
They are produced in cardboard packages, each of which contains 5 or 10 glass bottles. One bottle – one vaccination dose. The contents are vacuum packed, sealed with a rubber cap and a metal rim. Different vaccines have different colored rims to help you identify them. Since the vaccine is in powder form, it requires Nobivac Diluent, which is sold separately or included in the kit. Nobivac for cats comes in four types:

  • Tricket Trio,
  • Rabies,
  • BB,
  • Forket.

Each drug is intended to prevent certain diseases of a mustachioed pet. Your veterinarian will tell you which type of Nobivak vaccine to choose for your cat. It is not recommended to purchase and vaccinate yourself, as there may be contraindications. In addition, before vaccination, the animal must be prepared.

Nobivak Tricat Trio

Nobivac trikat trio vaccine

The drug is presented in the form of a pink powder. The vaccine protects your cat against common infections such as:

  • calicivirus (inflammatory damage to the eyes, oral mucosa, respiratory system);
  • rhinotracheitis (affects the organs of vision and breathing);
  • panleukopenia – feline distemper (characterized by inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract and a decrease in the number of leukocytes in the bloodstream).

After dilution, the Nobivak Triquet Trio vaccine is administered subcutaneously. Vaccination can be carried out when kittens reach 2 months of age. A month after vaccination, it should be repeated.

The average price for the drug is 300 rubles for the vaccine and solvent included.

Nobivac Rabies

This type of Nobivac makes it possible to protect your pet from rabies, a dangerous disease that is transmitted to people. The Rabies vaccine is given for the first time at 3 months of age and then repeated every year.

Nobivac Rabies is a yellowish or pinkish powder that requires the use of a solvent (saline). The rabies injection is given subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

The cost of one bottle is about 100 rubles.

Nobivac Rabies

Nobivak VV

Nobivak VV

This type of Nobivac is the only one that is not used by injection. The prepared composition is injected into the pet’s nasal passages once; there is no need to repeat the vaccination throughout life. The vaccine is intended for immunization against bordetellosis, an infectious disease of the respiratory tract. Kittens are vaccinated starting from 4 weeks of age, as well as adult animals that have not previously been vaccinated.

The price of Nobivak BB, on average, is 600 rubles per bottle.

Nobivak Forcat (Forcat)

Nobivak Forket for cats prevents infection with calicivirus, rhinotracheitis, panleukopenia and chlamydia. According to the instructions, the pale pink powder is mixed with a solvent and given as a subcutaneous injection. After 3-4 weeks, you need to re-vaccinate. Immunity lasts for a year, so revaccination is necessary every 12 months. For the first time, a cat is vaccinated at the age of 8-9 weeks, but if necessary, the vaccine can be used at 1.5 months.

The cost of Nobivak Forket is approximately 380 rubles for the vaccine and solvent included.

How to prepare a cat for vaccination

Vaccination is an unpleasant procedure, especially for animals. Therefore, before you start, you need to take care of how to minimize stress for your pet. Make sure your cat:

  • does not have lice and worms (prevention can be carried out a week before vaccination);
  • is not depressed;
  • does not have diseases against which prevention will be carried out.

Vaccination is prohibited if the animal:

  • infected with other diseases and taking antibiotics;
  • has lice and helminths;
  • came into contact with sick individuals, resulting in infection;
  • underwent surgery and is undergoing rehabilitation.

The vaccine is given subcutaneously ; you can learn how to properly administer injections to cats from our article.

Some vaccinations are contraindicated for pregnant and lactating cats (check instructions).

How to use the vaccine

To immunize a cat with the Nobivak vaccine, you first need to prepare a working solution. To do this, draw up the Nobivak Diluent solvent (1 cm³) with a sterile syringe, and then inject it into a bottle with a dry vaccine. After shaking, the solution is ready for use.

  • A subcutaneous injection is carried out into the pet’s withers (the area between the shoulder blades), and an intramuscular injection into the femoral muscle. Before and after the injection, your pet’s skin should be treated with alcohol.
  • When using Nobivak BB, after filling the syringe with the solution, the needle is replaced with an applicator.

If the procedure takes place at home, you must adhere to personal safety measures. If the solution gets on the mucous membrane or skin, the area is washed with plenty of running water.

Intramuscular vaccination of cats

Solvent Nobivac Diluent

Release form

The drug is supplied with the vaccine or purchased separately. Volume – 1 ml. Packaged in boxes of 5 to 60 units. The solvent is in a sealed glass bottle.

Compound

Nobivac Diluent consists of:

  1. sodium and potassium dihydrogen phosphate;
  2. water for injections.

Can there be side effects?

All vaccines in the Nobivak series are safe for cat health. Side effects may occur if the animal is hypersensitive, weakened, or the preparation for vaccination was not carried out carefully enough. In this case, the following manifestations are possible:

  • weakness, lethargy;
  • temperature increase;
  • refusal to eat.

A common occurrence is the development of swelling at the injection site. All side effects usually disappear within 2-3 days without special treatment.

When to use

The drug is used only for prophylactic purposes; its use for treatment is strictly prohibited.

The use of the vaccine may be associated with the first vaccination (in small kittens) or revaccination (repeating vaccinations annually to ensure lasting immunity). The vaccination schedule depends on the goal.

  1. The first vaccination period is 9 weeks. The vaccination must be repeated 3 weeks after the first one, since a one-time injection cannot provide a lasting effect.
  2. Revaccination is carried out every year. In this case, a single administration of the drug is sufficient.

If the timing of the first vaccination is missed and the adult cat is not immunized, then the vaccination must be done twice (with an interval of 3-4 weeks).

Features of vaccine storage

The dry vaccine is kept in a place protected from sunlight. Storage temperature – 2-8 ˚С. The temperature range for Diluent solvent is 3-24 ˚С. The shelf life of the drugs is from one month, depending on the type (indicated on the package).

The diluted Nobivak vaccine, intended for immunization of cats, is suitable for use within half an hour after preparing the solution. After this time, it cannot be used for vaccination. Also, do not use a composition that has changed color, contains impurities or forms flakes. Preparations with broken bottle seals or expired shelf life are not suitable for use.

Disposal is carried out by boiling the bottle with its contents for 20-30 minutes. After this, the bottle does not pose a risk to the environment and can be thrown away with household waste.

Nobivak Tricat Trio

Vaccination is used to prevent viral diseases such as panleukopenia, herpes and calicivirosis.

Release form

The vaccine is light pink in color. It looks like a homogeneous, porous mass. Supplied in glass, hermetically sealed bottles with aluminum reinforcement. The number of bottles per package for transportation is 10 pieces.

Compound

The prophylactic agent is obtained from the following components:

  • infected FEF cells;
  • glucite;
  • potassium dihydrogen phosphate;
  • protein base;
  • gelatin hydrolyzate.

Storage conditions

The vaccine can be used for 3 years from the date of manufacture. Store below room temperature, out of direct sunlight. From the moment of opening, the drug must be used within half an hour. Open, unused vials must be rendered harmless by boiling in water.

Instructions for use Triket Trio

Vaccination is acceptable for animals two months of age. The procedure must be repeated after a month.

Before use, you need to mix the two components until completely homogeneous and warm them in your hands to room temperature. The vaccine is administered using a syringe, intramuscularly or under the skin. The puncture site is treated with alcohol or other antiseptic.

Duration of treatment

The prophylactic agent must be used once a year.

Adverse reactions

There may be an increase in temperature and swelling around the puncture, which disappears after two days.

How long does it take for immunity to form and how long does it last?

It is very important to vaccinate your pet according to a certain schedule, without skipping the next vaccination, since in most cases immunity to the disease is not developed or does not develop to an insufficient extent. Thus, the resistance of the immune system to rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia begins to develop approximately 10 days after repeated vaccination. At the same time, immunity against panleukopenia lasts about three years, and rhinotracheitis and calicivirosis - for a year.

A single administration of the Rabies rabies vaccine leads to the formation of immunity after three weeks. The result of immunization lasts up to 1-3 years. The use of Nobivac IV causes an immune response after 3 days, but its duration has not been sufficiently studied.

What diseases will the vaccine protect against?

  1. Panleukopenia (feline distemper) is a highly contagious viral disease of cats, which primarily affects the heart, gastrointestinal tract, and respiratory organs. Without treatment, it is fatal in 90% of cases.
  2. Calicivirus is a contagious viral disease that affects the upper respiratory tract and oral cavity of cats, which is characterized by the appearance of ulcers in the mouth, watery eyes, and lameness.
  3. Rhinotracheid (feline herpes) is an acute viral respiratory disease characterized by damage to the eyes and respiratory system.

Reviews about Nobivac

Both veterinarians and cat owners leave positive reviews about the Nobivak series of vaccines. They note the safety of vaccination, the high effectiveness of the drugs, and the absence of side effects. Almost all vaccinated cats feel good after the injection.

In addition, owners note the convenience of using vaccines independently at home. Among other positive aspects, owners of mustachioed pets point to the reasonable cost of drugs and their availability in the network of veterinary pharmacies.

Despite the fact that you can freely purchase the Nobivak vaccine for cats and administer it at home yourself, it is better to consult a specialist before vaccination. He will not only check the pet’s health, but will also help draw up a plan for vaccination and revaccination.

Vaccination rules

The drug Nobivak is used to prevent various serious diseases. There are several types of the drug, each of which has a specific effect on the animal’s body. Nobivak is well tolerated by cats of all breeds; practically no negative reactions have been recorded in cats after its use. In rare cases, after administration of the drug, slight swelling in the area of the pet's muzzle is possible, which goes away after weeks without intervention.

Nobivac is used only when the cat is healthy. Before vaccination, the animal undergoes examination and deworming. It is allowed to use the product for pregnant and lactating animals.

If your pet is sensitive to one of the components of the drug, it must be replaced with another product.

Your pet should receive its first vaccination at the age of three months. A single dose is 1 ml. The drug is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Subsequently, revaccination is carried out every 3 years.

When vaccinating a cat, you should also adhere to the following rules:

  • 10 days before the procedure, deworm the cat;
  • When immunizing, maintain sterility;
  • To dissolve the powder, use a special solution Nobivak Duilent;
  • If there are several cats at home, vaccinate them all at the same time.

Vaccination is not allowed:

  • When the animal’s body is weakened;
  • If you have any illness;
  • When observing pathological signs;
  • If you are allergic to the components of the drug.

Description and types of vaccine

Many pet diseases are often associated with viruses and bacteria. Small kittens, whose immune systems are just developing, are especially susceptible to them. This is why preventing infection with dangerous diseases is important. The Nobivak vaccine is a similar drug. It does not cure, but prevents the disease.

"Nobivak" is a live vaccine. There are several types of vaccines to treat the following cat diseases:

  • rabies;
  • chlamydia;
  • herpes (type I), calicivirus, panleukopenia;
  • bordetellosis.

To prevent these dangerous diseases, four varieties of Nobivak are intended:

  1. "Nobivak Rabies".
  2. "Trio".
  3. "Nobivak Bb".
  4. "Nobivak Forcat".

A veterinary drug for cats is produced using a weakened or killed viral culture, which, when entering the animal’s body, contributes to the formation of stable immunity to this infection . It is important to note that vaccination is permitted only for clinically healthy animals that have previously undergone mandatory deworming.

Advantages of Nobivak vaccine for cats:

  • high-quality and effective drugs;
  • ease of use;
  • the ability to form stable immunity.

Advantages and disadvantages

Like any veterinary drug, Nobivak has positive and negative properties, which must be taken into account by owners before carrying out manipulations on cats. The main ones are presented in the table:

prosMinuses
High performanceHigh cost, which is why the drug is not available to every pet owner
Convenient use
Development of long-term immune protection against many infectious diseases in cats
High quality - made in the Netherlands
Minimal likelihood of adverse reactions

Vaccinations for adult dogs

If the dog has never been vaccinated, then you need to discuss the need for this with a veterinarian, who will competently draw up a vaccination schedule for an adult dog.

Nobivak is reintroduced a year after the first vaccinations. The anti-rabies drug is effective for three years.

It is necessary to have a vaccination passport for your dog, which will indicate the vaccination (what vaccination, date). With such a passport you will definitely not forget about the approach of the next one. Without a vaccination certificate, the dog will not be allowed on public transport (train, plane, intercity bus).

Instructions for use

The diverse effects of Nobivac strains are united by some general rules for any vaccinations performed:

  1. Each vaccination is carried out under sterile conditions (hands protected with medical gloves, disposable injection syringe).
  2. One ampoule with a vaccine strain + 1 bottle of solution is one vaccination (0.5 cm3 of powder per 1 ml of Diluent) or one instillation of IV (0.3 ml).
  3. The medication is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. The only IV drug that is injected into the nasal sinus (with a syringe without a needle).

The pet must also be prepared in a certain way:

  1. 10 days before vaccination, the animal must carry out preventive measures for deworming (give the cat an anti-parasite drug).
  2. Nobivak BB can be used once the animal reaches 1 month of age.
  3. Other types of Nobivac are vaccinated only after 2 months of age.
  4. If there are several mustachioed pets in the family, all must be vaccinated at the same time.
  5. The effect of the vaccine lasts for a year. Then a second injection is required.

After vaccination, your pet must be monitored for at least 3 days. This is exactly how long it takes for the virus strains to begin interacting with the circulatory system. It happens that the pussy does not tolerate the vaccine injection well, then it needs to be urgently shown to the doctor.

Behavior before and after vaccination

30 days before vaccinating your cat, you need to take preventive measures to cure worms using special deworming agents. They are available for purchase at veterinary pharmacies. It doesn’t hurt to expel all possible parasites from the coat, be it fleas, ticks or lice-eaters.

Only healthy pets can be vaccinated. Vaccination of sick, weakened, pregnant individuals, as well as cats during lactation up to 2-2.5 months is absolutely contraindicated.

It is also necessary to observe quarantine after vaccination. Many may be wondering when they can go for a walk after vaccination. It is believed that you can go for a walk almost immediately after vaccination, but this time should be reduced to a minimum, and you should avoid places where the cat can come into contact with other animals.

Well, it’s worth constantly monitoring your cat’s condition for some time in order to be prepared to contact a veterinarian in a timely manner if necessary.

Contraindications

Since the medicine is prophylactic, there are no cases in which its use is prohibited. But still, to prevent side effects and other unpleasant consequences, veterinarians do not recommend vaccination with Nobivak in the following conditions:

  • pregnancy in cats;
  • simultaneous use of other vaccines;
  • weakened immune system or untreated disease;
  • lack of an antiparasitic program;
  • Kittens are less than 9 weeks old.

What the owners say (Review)

“I have always loved cats, but I was able to have my own pet only when I started living separately from my parents (my mother has allergies). They scared me with various cat diseases. For some reason, I was most afraid of rabies. But she still decided on a new family member, although she rushed straight to the clinic for a full examination and consultation. The doctor vaccinated the kitten with Nobivak and calmed all my fears. Adaptation to the pussy's new home was painless. And the vaccination, apparently, did not bring any consequences. The new tenant happily ran around the apartment, did not lose his appetite, slept well and did not try to touch or lick the injection site. Two weeks later, we applied the same Nobivak, only with a different vaccine, to the nose to exclude several more serious diseases. And this time, too, everything went fine. True, the kitten sneezed so funny for some time. I’ll have a baby soon, but I’m not at all worried that my furry hero will be somehow dangerous for him.” Tatyana, Sverdlovsk.
